Year’s End Review

Last night met the end of Sunday evening youth programming at Church of the Nativity. We will reconvene in September, but until then it’s time to plan and get ready for next year. I haven’t been able to write this past month due to the fact that Kate and I had just bought a house, we were both traveling north (to home) a lot and lastly Confirmation took some time planning. But now that that is that (fun saying), it’s time to move on and look forward.
Last week the staff was on retreat planning out the year, coming up with series themes, thinking of ways to create effective programming and discussion how to cast more vision for the parish. It was good, we came away with a lot learned, unfortunately I cannot reveal that yet, but I’m happy to say that there aren’t any major changes that will happen to youth programming. So, we can take the time this summer to plan, write, and inspire. One thing that I find fun to share is how energized and excited I am, especially compared to last year. A couple of my ministers expressed exhaustion, but for the most part I’m very proud of them all. They stayed strong, they stayed committed and they helped make this year a great and fun year.
We saw this past year as a year of finding stability. Uprising found it’s core group of teens, Resurrection settled into it’s new time slot, small groups doubled in size from the fall to the spring and you just saw that the quality of program improved. I see next year as a response to all the wonderful things that happened this past year.
It’s exciting to know that God has blessed this church I look forward to seeing it grow
Next blog will be notes from North Point.
