Thoughts on Clarifying Confirmation

I’ve been having some great conversations with parents lately regarding the way we do preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation here at Nativity. The two main thoughts in my mind that I’m walking away from these conversations with are:
1. We need to clarify, clarify and clarify (what we clarify I’ll mention in a moment).
2. We have a long road ahead of us…which I’m okay with.
I mentioned a few posts ago that over the summer I’m going to do an online blog series on Confirmation and right now I’m looking at the areas we need to clarify…this is what I have right now:
– Retreat
– Age
– Remote Preparation (What parents, the church and students need to do to get ready for Confirmation prep)
– Immediate Preparation (What are expectations are and what parents, and students can expect from us in the actual sacramental preparation)
Hopefully these areas will explain why we do what we do. If there are areas I’m missing I would love to know.
