Last night we had a “dress rehearsal” of our Good Friday worship RISE and allowed all the students and youth ministers to come back and watch. Kristin did such a good job organizing and coordinating the entire event and it’ll be exciting to see what it’s like on Friday when the place should be packed. I get excited for this each year because it’s a snapshot of what I would like to see in our Sunday worship programs for youth on a weekly basis.
Yesterday I had a conversation with Erik (who leads the students in worship) regarding Adoration. We talked about being able to provide a forum where students could come and worship and be present with the Holy Eucharist outside of Mass. It would be great to set this up because an Adoration where students gather, sing, pray and worship on a regular basis would allow us to provide something for students who are committed to their faith. It will also help us bridge the gap we are currently experiencing with students in the Confirmation program. As part of the retreat students participate in adoration and for 99% of them this their first time…it’ll be good to see where this goes.
