We started the New Year with a new series on sex and dating we like to call “It.” This is probably the fourth year we’ve had a series on this subject and even though it can be a little difficult to break down for students (and parents) it’s proved to be an important series.
With the 7th/8th grade students in Resurrection we did a general overview of God’s plan for sex, how it has limits but how originally sex is a good thing. It’s just unfortunate that the world and the devil has ruined that perception.
With the High School students in Uprising we started breaking down God’s plan by talking about the foundation of healthy relationships. A healthy relationship (whether married, dating or among friends) centers around Christ.
We had a large crowd at both programs, I guess students are excited to be back or maybe it’s the subject. I hope to keep the momentum going in 2009.
