Pulse

This is a preview video from our new series at Church of the Nativity “Pulse”, where we are examining what is in our heart. We are encouraging others to guard their hearts from evil.

This has been a pretty powerful series for me because it reminds me of the guilt, hate and other nasty things living in my heart. I know I’m a good person; however, I know that there is much in my heart that needs cleaning and forgiveness. I’m hoping people can take something from this series and use it to repair and rebuild relationships that suffer from the evil in their hearts.
The thing that always helps me when I need to confess, cleanse or purify the things in my heart is to remember God’s undying love. Rob Bell has a great Nooma video called Lump, which is all about God’s unending love. When we remember that God will never stop loving us then we shouldn’t be afraid to release that evil, those burdens in our hearts over to Him. It would be nice to be able to do that with our friends and families…but if that doesn’t seem likely right now, then how about we give that undying love to those that surround us.
