Hard As Nails

I think I blogged about this a while back, but when I opened my email this morning someone asked my opinion on Justin Fatica of Hard as Nails ministries. They had seen an interview of him on Good Morning America.
In regards to how I feel about the ministry from what I’ve seen in the interview, website and HBO documentary…I’m not sure.
I like that he’s going outside the box, I like that he’s going outside the box as a Catholic and I like how he’s stirring things up. Christ said we would face adversity, when trying to spread His love and word (see John 15:18-27). I like that He lives and shares a faith that is against the grain of the world, because when it comes to choosing a path it’s the world’s way or God’s way. I think the world makes Christianity to be boring, out of date, narrow minded, etc… I think a lot of Christians do the same, make Christianity boring, out of date, narrow minded, etc, so I applaud Justin for shaking things up and making faith a movement, making the church a movement and not a building.
So what doesn’t sit right… maybe it’s the yelling, maybe it’s because I understand that sometimes thinking outside the box can be controversial and borderline blasphemic… do I think Justin’s doing that, not really sure, but I do believe God is calling him to make a difference. So Justin you are in my prayers, I pray that God is with you every step of the way.
