Practice #1 Clarify the Win for Nativity Youth

In order to know and understand the win of your specific ministry you have to know what in the end we are trying to acomplish. (ex. A professional baseball team strives to win the World Series, but to get there they need to compile as many wins as possible. And to win a game they must score more points that there opponents, etc.)
Here is our mission as a youth ministry:
To create irresistible environments that will connect youthin Christ-like relationships while challenging and encouraging them to grow in their faith. To help young people discover their spiritual gifts and reach out to others all for the purpose of honoring God.
Purpose: We want to create irresitible environments in order to raise up purpose driven youth.
Win: When one of our students makes his/her own decision in taking that next step in their faith.

Wins and Mission Statements:
Our mission statement is too broad to be our win. The purpose of a mission sttement is to point the direction we want to lead our church our youth ministry program. A win tells us how we are going to get there. A win shows what the path to fulfilling our mission looks like.
Just as our church and our youth ministry have a mission and win, so do each individual ministry and ministry position.

Here are our areas of ministry and how we view the win.
Community Programs (Evangelization)
Mission of our ski trips, Super Bowl Party, E-teams, etc (Community): Inviting and encouraging non-believing teens to have a relationship with Christ through the many different programs and opportunities offered at Church of The Nativity.
The Win: When a teen who we meet outside of the church comes to Nativity for one of our more consistent programs.

Crowd Programs (Worship)
Mission of the Sunday Afternoons and Nights (Crowd) Ministry: To create an Irresistible Environment that will welcome the seeker, pick up the stumbler and rejuvenate the sold out all for the purpose of honoring God and giving those the opportunities to deepen their relationship with Christ.
The Win: When one of our church kids invites a friend, the friend returns and gets connected within the parish (ministry, small groups, etc.)

Congregation Programs (Fellowship)
Mission of the Small Groups (Congregation) Ministry: To give youth the opportunity to form Christ-like relationships in a challenging and inviting environment.
The Win: When a student has a meaningful interaction and discusses life changing principles within the context of a small group.

Committed Program (Confirmation/Sacramental Prep)
Mission of the Spiritual Advisors (Committed): To give youth and their families the tools that will challenge and encourage them to grow in their faith.
The Win: After the gift of Confirmation(or other Sacrament) is received the student commits themselves further in the church body (through ministry, small group or student leadership)

Core Programs (Student Ministries)
Mission of the Ministry Leaders (Core): Helping young people discover their spiritual gifts in order to spread the word of God in new and creative ways.
The Win: When a student not only commits to a ministry but takes ownership in leading prayer, enhancing fellowship and incorporating discipleship.
