Hanging with the JV’s

So last night the Jesuit Volunteers for Baltimore arrived into town and as a Former Jesuit Volunteer I get the priveledge of leading Local Orientation. Last night I went over and cooked them fajitas and they were delicious (of course they were I made them). Now that I have been out of the program for about 3 years it is really interesting for me to meet these individuals as they embark on a new chapter in their life. All 5 of them are from the midwest and one is from Alaska (2 guys 4 girls). Basically, all but one has never been to the East Coast and so Baltimore is a real treat. I only got to talk to them briefly last night because their placement supervisors and support people were there but with the one on one conversations I had with them it seems as if they are really excited about doing community together. Today I take them to the bank and give them a tour of Charles Village where they reside. I hope to get to know them a little better.
