Get in The Game: There is A Drama To Life Week 1 How To Save A Life .10.08.06

I love sports and I love playoffs especially March Madness when there are 65 teams and at the end of the month there stands one champion. There are so many emotions that are displayed when it comes to sports. There’s tension, nervousness, anger, frustration, joy, etc. and we love it. Sports captures our attention, we spend money supporting our teams and time cheering them on or participating in them. Life is a drama very similar to sports, there are the same emotions, in the end we can win (heaven) or lose (hell) but unlike sports there is no next time. So you have to ask yourself, what am I to do.
The drama of life happened at the beginning of our existence, Adam and Eve had it all, they were in paradise and they gave it up over a bad decision. See God gave us everything, including free will, the only thing he asked us not to do was eat the forbidden fruit. Adam and Eve made a bad decision and since then we humans have been aware of the drama of life.
– Genesis 3:22 – Then the LORD God said: “See! The man has become like one of us, knowing what is good and what is bad!

So with the decision to eat the forbidden fruit people found themselves in a battle of good vs. evil. And as we see in the bible there are people who made bad decisions, decisions that hurt God very much.

– Genesis 6:5-6 – When the LORD saw how great was man’s wickedness on earth, and how no desire that his heart conceived was ever anything but evil, he regretted that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was grieved.

– Numbers 14:11 – And the LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people spurn me? How long will they refuse to believe in me, despite all the signs I have performed among them?
But through this battle we can win if we only choose the right side. We will face hard times, but will prevail if we choose God like David and Job
– David – Psalms 22:2 – My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why so far from my call for help, from my cries of anguish? My God, I call by day, but you do not answer; by night, but I have no relief.
– Job – Job 10:1-2 – I loathe my life. I will give myself up to complaint; I will speak from the bitterness of my soul. I will say to God: Do not put me in the wrong! Let me know why you oppose me.
So now that we are aware of this battle let’s talk about how to Get In The Game and how to not only win, but help others win as well. But in order to do that you have to be aware of three things

1. Need to see LIFE IS A DRAMA
– There is suffering, pain, conflict, joy, excitement, tension, etc. Are you aware of that or are you numb to what goes on around you.
– Are you aware that life is more than what you go through but involves everyone.

2. Need to SET A GOAL
– Where are you going in life? Are you even thinking about heaven, are you thinking about hell? Because, hell and heaven are real. Because, Satan and God are real.
– You need to make heaven the goal, because there is no better win than eternal life. It’s not something you get but you earn.

3. Need to PUT THE PLAN INTO ACTION– It’s great to talk the talk but you need to walk the walk. Are you telling people you are Christian or are you living like a Christian.
– Faith is only good if it is put to work.

Do you believe in heaven and hell? Why and Why not?
How is life a drama for you?
What goals do you have in your earthly life and what goals do you have afterwards?
Do you set goals in your life or live life on a whim?
Do you have a plan for life? Is it yours, God’s someone elses?
What makes you confident about your plan?
If you don’t have a plan what are you doing in life?
