Facing the Storm

This morning’s staff prayer was great, Kristin lead us in a reflection on Mark 4:35-41. She had us read it three times and on the second time she had us focus on a word that popped out to us. For me it was Mark 4:40 “Why are you afraid, Have you still no faith?”
It’s funny that those words stuck out to me, because for a long time I’ve thought that I’ve truly trusted the Lord with my life, but due to recent events, I’ve realized that I have been holding back from really trusting the Lord.
There have been things that have happened personally and professionally where I want to take a step back and say to God, “No, don’t do this to me, not right now.” And, it’s all because I’ve been in this little world of comfort and God is asking me to grow, He’s telling me, it’s not about your plans for you, it’s about my plans for you.
This weekend I’m heading up north to be with family, I hope that when I get back I’ll be ready to head into the conflict, face the storm and know that God will make sure everything will be alright.
