Last night a friend of mine invited a group of friends to watch her on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”. If you know my friend she is the perfect fit for a game show like this because she loves trivia and it doesn’t freak her out to be under pressure, in fact it was impressive to watch how calm and collected she was answering each question. Granted Meredith Viera isn’t going to freak you out like Regis, but, still my friend did a great job. She’s always had a gift for remembering small and big details and it paid off in an experience like this.
I think we could all benefit from remembering small and big details, especially when it comes to our relationship with God. So often we look for the big things, we look for the grandioso miracles that just never seem to come or when they do it’s still not good enough. There are the times with my wife when we go out on a date, dress up, have a nice romantic time, but then there are the times where just riding in the car with her to the supermarket is just so great. I think if we look at our relationship with Christ like that we’ll enjoy His presence more. I don’t want the students of this ministry to only look for the big things, I want them to notice the small things. That’s why how we greet them from week to week, how we ask them about their lives, affirm them in some way can be a testiment to that. Those come off as small things, but in reality they are just as important.
