This series purpose was discuss the power of words, how we use them, to whom we use them and what type of affect they can have on our relationship with others and God. In our first week of Crosswords: The Puzzling Power of Words we looked at what we should be using our words for and how we speak fits into how we live. So we started with the questions, “What’s the point to life?”
The Bible tells us:
I Was Created For a Purpose
Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them.”
It’s All About God
Romans 11:36 – “For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”
The Catechism says:
1. God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength…
As Christians we believe God is:
1. calling us to seek him
2. calling us to know him
3. calling us to love him with all of our strength
And as God calls us to be closer to him we have to remember to fullil our obligations as Christians. What obligations? To love him and honor him with all our heart, to serve one another, to bring others to Christ, form community with other believers and grow in your faith.
This can seem like a daunting task and a lot relies on how we communicate, over the next few weeks we will discuss how to communicate God’s word and avoid evil. Over the next few weeks we will discuss how:
Our Words become our Actions
Actions become our Habits
Habits become our Character
Character becomes our DESTINY
Reflect over this:
How do you communicate to others?
How do you communicate to God?
How would you define your purpose?
