Confirmation on Pentecost

So tonight most of the 10th graders in our parish received the sacrament of Confirmation. I have to say preparation was painful and at first I thought it was due to the fact that I just didn’t know these kids. But as they came up to receive the blessing from Bishop Rozanski I felt a connection to them. I’m not ready to let this group of young individuals disappear, I want to work with them to enhance their spiritual gifts, and encourage them to be leaders of their faith. I don’t know how I’m going to exactly do that but then again it’s really not in my hands, it’s in God’s.
Tonight, I thought was going to painful but it was good to be a part of this moment, I just hope that they remember it all and I pray everyday that God can remind them of their commitment. I’m happy to be a youth minister, I’m really happy, in the end all the pain and crap I go through is worth it. These kids they have hope…no they have Christ in them, I just want them to know that.
