Youth Ministry the Best Ministry Part #1

As promised here is the first ministry description of what you can do if you are interested in working with teens (grades 5-12) at Church of the Nativity. Each day we will post another area and give a brief ministry description of how you can make a difference in the life of a teen.

First Up: Ascent
Ascent is our 5th/6th grade program that takes place Sundays from 12pm – 1pm in the Classroom Wing. This program provides the opportunity for 5th/6th grade students to develop Christ-like relationships with students their own age through small groups lead by high school upperclassmen. Below are two positions available for people interested working with tweens (5th/6th grade students) and high school students:

Group Leaders

Group leaders for Ascent are juniors and seniors in high school who will lead a group of 6-8 (5th/6th grade) students each Sunday. Each leader will be paired up with a partner and be responsible for leading discussion and activities during each hour. As a group leader you would be a role model to the younger students guiding and mentoring them in their faith.

Program Coordinators
Program Coordinators for Ascent are adults who want to plan activities, curriculum and coordinate the high school students who are group leaders for the programs. As a program coordinator you would be setting up the high school students for success so that they can be the Christ-like role models that the younger students need.
