You Must Be This Old To Serve

With the summer moving forward things have begun to pile up. Not in a bad way, just in the way where decisions have to be made so that the ministry can take action. One of the many things on our plate at Nativity is the student ministry team we are putting together. The original plan was to allow all middle school and high school students to serve in a ministry here at Nativity; however, after much praying and discerning I’ve come to the conclusion that maybe we should focus on just plugging high school students into ministry. Now, that doesn’t mean middle school students couldn’t serve, they would be able to in performance based ministries such as worship, and with their families in the hospitality ministries (i.e. greeting) and help out with events such as Breakfast with Santa, but other ministries just may not be appropriate. I could list the reasons, but it’s a long in-depth conversation, something that I’m not sure has a right or wrong answer. There just needs to be a decision that is made.
