Wins in Ministry

Tonight was an awesome night for both the high school and middle school programs. The format was similar with the exception of a dramatization to follow up the message. We closed up our series Simple by encouraging the teens to organize their life around Jesus’ teachings. This series we adapted from an Andy Stanley series and I think it was a success. With the middle school they were definitely engaged in stepping up the commitment they have to their faith. We focused very much on the musical worship and it seems to pay off. There is an energy running through that brings it to the next level.
In the high school program we have been doing a little more contemplative youth ministry. We were doing games, which I think some of them enjoyed but since it’s a smaller group most of them are reluctant to participate. If we do group games then they are excited but the individual games I think singles them out. But, regardless the activities are working.
The one thing I want to see happening that we are struggling with are the E-teams. The problem with this is the lack of clarity in what they are exactly are. I want these teens really to be encouraged and empowered to tell their friends about Christ and I want them to form the discipline. I wondering if this something to eventually implement into our Confirmation program.
Anyway God continues to bless this ministry and this church. I pray that over the next two weeks we can make 2008 even better.
