What it’s all about.

It’s all about authentic realtionships through consistent opportunities in irresistible environments that point teenagers into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s what the focus of last night’s meeting for Upward Ministers at Nativity was all about. I’ve always felt good about our kickoff meetings, and gatherings for the student ministers at Nativity, but last night was great because you could really see people diving into the subject matter.
Our mission statement over the last couple of years has evolved but we’ve settled on the above statement because it characterizes why we do what we do.
Authentic Relationships: If you look at John 15:1-17 Jesus tells us to remain in Him, because when we stay connected to Christ we bare fruit. If we as ministers remain in Christ we will not only bare fruit but pass that on to the teens we serve.
Consistent Opportunities: If we aren’t consistent, if we are about programs/events/trips and not about being purposeful with what we do, then you we won’t create any impact.
Irresistible Environments: If a student does not feel loved, comfortable or accepted then they will reject what you provide.
Deeper Relationship with Jesus Christ: This will be done through the prior three points, and by communicating certain values and developing certain habits into a teens life we believe we have a better chance of setting them up for success.
