What I learned at Camp

So this past week I took a group of 12 students to Kearny, NJ to attend Catholic Heart Work Camp www.heartworkcamp.com. The heat was intense, the days were long but overall the camp was great. All the students got to experience service and worship each day. Some were affected by the worship experience while others showed more of a servants heart. Of all the things I experienced this is what I learned and bring back with me.

Beware of your THOUGHTS for they become your words.
Beware of your WORDS for they become of your actions.
Beware of your ACTIONS for they become your habits.
Beware of your HABITS for they become your character.
Beware of your CHARACTER for it becomes your DESTINY.

I found this memorable because we try to teach teens to be followers of Christ we are faced with obstacles and adversity whether it comes from society, culture, parents, school, media, etc. and we are always trying to evaluate what they are up to. But this saying breaks down how we shape ourselves and shows that what we think eventually leads to who we become. So what are you thinking right now? And what is it leading you towards?
