Time Away Now I’m Back

Written by Christopher Wesley | Aug 9, 2009 6:33:00 PM

I’ve been on vacation, a work camp and attended a wedding in the last two and a half weeks. I can finally sit down and start spinning the wheels for this upcoming year. I want to share with you a couple of things (work and none work) that I’ve reflected on during my time away.

  • Games, gadgets and gimmicks are okay but what works in student ministry are relationships.
  • In order for people to keep up with what is happening in the student ministry we need to be as clear as possible with our mission statement and process.
  • Pennsylvania feels like the longest state to travel through regardless of which way you go.
  • Generations are getting smaller, apparently the students are a part of Generation M (media) for now, tomorrow they are something new.
  • You can never have too much lobster.
  • If you are a middle school boy you can never have too much deodorant (Axe is not deodorant)
  • I can survive without technology for a week.
  • This is going to be a great year in ministry.
