The Switch

The days are quickly counting down until the kickoff, I know I have some nerves. I just learned back to school is that evening, which mostly affects ministers and not the students. Anyway, what are you going to do? You always have obstacles, in fact I’m learning the switch in nights have helped some students join us but then it’s also hurt some students who don’t know if they can make it. I don’t think there is a perfect night or time to host a youth ministry, I do believe there are better times than others, and when you have limitations in space and resources it’s about discovering those optimal times.

We moved Uprising to Thursdays and Ascent to Sunday afternoons mainly to have use of better resources, to have better use of our facilities, to allow us more margin between each program. Ideally if we had our own space, we could be a lot more flexible, ideally if we had more full time staff we could be more efficient, ideally if we had more we could do more, but at this time we aren’t there. I’m not complaining, in fact I’m proud of where we are because I believe we are growing at a healthy rate, with some of the most talented, hardworking, God loving individuals this student ministry has ever seen. In the end that’ll create the more of what we need, it’s just about heading in that direction.
