The New New Hall

One of the funny things about this church is the name for some of our rooms or spaces. We hold Religious Ed in the Old Classrooms, which is also known as the Old Hall, the youth programs are in the New Classrooms, also known as the New Hall and the East Pavilion. But the New Hall is older than the Great Hall, but no one calls the the East Pavilion the East Pavilion unless they know that it’s called that.
Now that you are confused I’ll try to explain where I’m going with this. Today marks the start of construction of the new “performance/worship” space for youth and children’s programming. It’s exciting, I mean all they are doing is laying down electricity but it’s exciting none the less. There goal is to be done by the end of July, early August and then after that we’ll be testing everything to make sure it works. I can’t wait. After the project is done I don’t know if we’ll still call the space the New Hall…we won’t have to call the Old Classrooms old any more because they’ll be the only classrooms. I’m hoping that besides providing an irresistible environment that this new space will give us a chance to appropriately name things. Sorry about the confusion I had to sort this all out in my head.
