Second day of taking the light rail and it was pretty fun…it’s nice when the weather is what it is. Of course my commute is slightly longer (driving w/out traffic = 20 minutes; light rail including getting to and from stations = 40 minutes), but I get to walk and read and not worry about the craziness on the roads. This morning was nice because the chaos of losing the car, not knowing how and where we will get the next one has subsided, now it’s just going back to the financial plan that Kate and I set out and seeing where adjustments need to be made.
Monday I was at Mass for All Souls day and Psalm 23 (see below) was read. It made me realize that even when we are knocked off our path we need to have faith that God is going to lead us back on. Even though things will be tough, God is by our side. This morning was like realizing that again. When it comes to our finances it’s important to put together a God honoring budget; however, it’s just as important to stick to God’s plan when things get scary, because with Him there is nothing to fear.
Psalm 23:
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
