Ocean City Win

I’m down in Ocean City this weekend for the Baltimore Youth Catholic Conference. It’s about 12:30am, I don’t know why I’m still awake, but I know that I wanted to share this awesome win from this evening. First, the conference is going well, being on the committee is difficult for me because I feel out of my realm; however, everyone has come together and it’s been good. But what I wanted to share is a huge win.
I brought two teens from Nativity, one plays guitar in the worship band at Uprising (high school program)and the other is a worship leader in Time Travelers (our Children Liturgy of the Word). They had to travel down separate from me because I needed to be here early, so they took a bus that contained students from St. Joes, Cathedral and Holy Trinity. Along the trip (which usually takes 3 hours) they got into a traffic jam that delayed them an extra 4 hours. Anyway, the kids were bored, the one who leads worship encouraged the other to play guitar and together they lead worship on the bus. One of the adult leaders told me later that they made it into a huge worship experience.
I’m so proud of them and as their youth minister it means so much to me to know that they allow God to work in their lives.
