It’s really time to start moving things forward for the fall. It’s time to build momentum and we should have enough time. The one thing we really need momentum for is the September 10th Uprising Kickoff. It’s the first time we are having it on Thursday night so we don’t have the usual weekend attendance and momentum to spread the word, we basically have to use other means and methods. Another obstacle that we will need to overcome is the fact that we don’t have the church kickoff weekend before this event, it’s after it, and the weekend before is Labor Day. We will probably have to do a lot of word of mouth and foot work to get people plugged in and excited.
What has helped us is showing the student “What To Expect Video” during Mass yesterday. It’s also helped having a lot of face to face time with the students (via VBS, Confirmation retreats, Church at Chipotle, Elevate and S*Mile) because I’ve been able to get their thoughts and ideas behind Uprising. Programmatically we are in good shape it’s just about making sure we get the systems together and making sure that they are clear to the ministers, parents, teens and community.
