I love Christmas. It’s a time to be with family and celebrate the hope that the birth of Christ brings. It’s a time where I am home, relaxing, refreshing and refueling. It’s during this time of year that I usually take a step back from blogging, tweeting and any other sort of technology stimulate. I’ll be honest this year will be tougher than pasts because I’m not going into the mountains and I now have a smart phone. If I’m tweeting, posting or sharing it’ll be due to a moment of weakness.
It’s healthy for everyone to take a break, disconnect and breathe. It’s difficult in a world that demands so much of our time and energy. If you want to be in youth ministry for the long haul you need to be able to plan out these breaks. Granted it might not happen during this season, but take a minute to plan a few days off, a vacation or lay out a schedule where you can breathe.
During this Christmas season I’ll be praying for you, I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas, and a Blessed New Year. For now, I’m shutting things down. My next post will be on Friday January 3rd, 2014. I look forward to seeing you then.
