Here I Am To Worship

So, none of the first serves could make it yesterday, but they still told me that they wanted to serve. I’m not worried any more about the ministers situation, God brought peace to my heart and I know I have to work on a few things in regards to recruitment, but in time I will get there.
Last night’s Uprising went well, Michael, Lauren and Danny did awesome in regards to leading worship, and I think it lit a spark in their hearts. Afterwards I was talking to them and they all agreed that this summer they wanted to work on leading worship, getting students involved in worship and actually explaining what worship is supposed to be.
It’s something we all need to do, especially in programs where we want people to worship. So here’s a start at defining worship. Worship is allowing yourself to be caught up in the moment whether it’s music, message, activity, etc. and participate with the intention to be closer to God. For example during worship music, sing to the Lord, dance or close your eyes and taken in the song. During a message, take notes, apply it to your life or take the commissioning given by the speaker seriously. There is no one way to worship, it’s just about allowing yourself to be closer to Christ.
