Hanging out with God

Tomorrow I plan on spending the morning with God. From about 8:30am until 1:00pm and then come to work for our prayer meeting at 1pm until 1:30pm. This isn’t something new for me, it’s more like revisited.
The idea of spending a day with God was introduced to me over a year ago by Efrem Smith one of the main speakers at the Shift Conference in Chicago. He talked about how he asks his staff to spend at least one day with God a month. They weren’t going to take the day off, this wasn’t a day to catch up on errands, this was time to just spend with God, away from the office. When I heard this I liked it, thought of it as a great opportunity to just really refresh myself. One day a month I didn’t have to worry about anything because when you are with God there is no reason to worry.
I was pretty good about it for about 8 months and then just when life got crazy (the time I would have needed to spend time with God the most) I bailed out and stopped giving God this designated time.
Jumping back on this path is rather difficult, to spend a whole work day with God is tough, so I’m going with a half day tomorrow and then hopefully can build up to a full day in the coming months.
I know this is something I need, because lately life has gotten crazy again and when life gets crazy God’s telling us, “Let me take care of this.”
God, I’m giving you my time.
