Efficient Message Usage in Ascent

The fun thing about Ascent (5th/6th grade programming) this series is that I get to take a look back at some of the old messages we’ve done on money, giving, spending and saving and reuse them. It’s not that I’m giving the exact same message but I’m able to look at what went well, what needs to be tossed and what needs to be emphasized more. Another thing that’s tough is these messages have been given to high school and 7th/8th grade students in the past so tailor making a message for tweens is a little tough. In the end I think the group will be very receptive. We have some great illustration like this one which comes from Proverbs 23:4-5 – Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.
