For years I felt like the only youth minister in my area. It’s not that the other churches didn’t have a youth ministry program, but their youth ministers wouldn’t stick around for more than a few years. With the constant turnover, it was so difficult to build any type of community.
It took time but I finally started connecting with other youth workers through a few national and local networks. It was through those networks that I learned:
- I was not alone in my struggles with parents, teens, and volunteers
- Different strategies for communicating, training volunteers and reaching youth
- Youth ministry is so much better when you surround yourself with people who want you to succeed
The reason it took me time to connect with other youth workers is that I was AFRAID that people would judge my lack of experience. I was afraid my ideas weren’t worthy of the discussion.
As a youth minister and now coach I’ve learned the value of working with other youth workers. It’s something that has blessed me and I want others to benefit too. That’s why I’m happy to announce a new edition of the MYM HUDDLE.
The MYM HUDDLE is a collaborative masterclass where likeminded church workers get together to LEARN, COLLABORATE AND SHARE. In the past, we’ve had Huddles on small groups and Confirmation preparation. In the newest edition, we’ll be focusing on:
BUILDING A DYNAMIC TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS
I’d love for you to be a part of the MYM Huddle because I know there are some incredible youth ministers out there looking to collaborate with you. Plus I want to share with you what I’ve learned about building a team of volunteers. In this edition we’ll cover topics like:
BUILDING A CORE LEADERSHIP TEAM
It’s with a core leadership team that I’ve been able to tackle big problems and expanded my ministry’s capacity to reach more people. It’s with a core team that I’ve been held accountable to do my job and never stop growing as a leader. With a core team, your leadership can be affirmed and strengthened.
RECRUITING THE RIGHT PEOPLE
It really isn’t hard to recruit people to serve in your ministry. The challenge comes from finding the right people and putting them in the right position. The solution is creating an onboarding process that helps everyone find the best place to serve.
CREATING AN ATTRACTIVE TEAM CULTURE
The reason people join your team will differ from why they stay on your team. When you have unity you have men and women willing to commit to your vision and one another. I’ve had fun with my volunteers and today some of them are my closest friends.
When you sign up for the MYM Huddle you’ll be assigned to a group of 8 other church workers. Each group is lead by anMYM Huddle Facilitator who will lead the discussion.
In addition, you’ll be a member of our exclusive MYM Huddle Facebook Group. In that group, we’ll have conversations, bonus interviews, and resources that you can share with your team.
Lastly, we’ll resource you with 6 Informative Videos and Downloadable Resources that you can share with your growing youth ministry team.
Now, I would love to be able to coach every one of you one on one. But, on top of not having enough time, some of us don’t have the budgets for a professional coach. To make this experience affordable and worth your time we’re charging $349.
Again, we’re not just throwing a bunch of videos at you, but helping you break down the content, process your ideas and receive encouragement from other church workers. In fact, you don’t have to be a youth minister to join. You could be a Director of Religious Ed, Catechist, Pastor or someone who just wants to learn more about mobilizing the people who sit in your pews each week.
So, don’t hesitate because spots are limited and registration closes 1:59 AM EST on March 1st, 2018. To sign up simply click the button below.
