Creating Capacity

It’s been a busy couple of days, but that’s all a part of getting into the groove of things, but I know that it’s all good because I find myself excited as each program approaches. I was able to meet with ministers help them refocus and work to get glitches out of the kickoff weekend. But again grace is needed because kickoff weekend is a different kind of weekend. Fortunately, we are also in need of more ministers, the reason I say fortunately is because it’s due to growth in numbers. We have more students signed up then we have in the past, we have more needs to fulfill and I know the Lord will provide but we need to set-up the systems that will orient new ministers into student ministry. If we don’t set-up the systems it won’t matter how much God will bless us we’ll never receive that blessing. These are some of the steps we need to create (some of which we already have):

  1. Captivate Recruits – getting the word out about what we do and who we are and why people should serve with us.
  2. Clarified Roles – No one wants to walk into a position and have no idea what they are doing.
  3. Clear Vision – People need to know why they are needed and what they need to do.
  4. Continued Praise – Once you get them you need to keep them, that’s why it’s important to thank them, praise them and encourage them.

And while this is all good, allow God to work through you and pray for the opportunities to engage others into student ministry.
