A Prayer for Ministers

It’s been going crazy today, my heart has been all over the place. Resurrection was fun, we did a good old classic game, Mike and Lauren did a great job of breaking down the point of worship. I’m praying that Uprising goes well too.
On a side note, it’s been fun to see all these people going around first serving; however, none of them have been in youth. I think we have one or two scheduled for tonight (Uprising), I’m hoping they show. I can’t really blame anyone for a lack of first serve’s in youth ministry, well, except myself. I haven’t been clear and aggressive enough in recruiting people who want to serve youth. I’m not sure what my issue is, what the lack of appeal is or maybe it’s a clarification issue. I’m known for not always being clear. All I do know is if we want to make youth ministry relational, if we want to have kids grow up knowing faith is about a relationship and an event, then we need to start creating more opportunities to experience that relationship with a God love, teen liking (you have to love but you don’t have to like them) adult. So I have a prayer tonight, my prayer is that God continues to bless this church with great people who want to serve Him and that He provides me with an abundance of opportunities to share with others why serving in youth ministry can be a growing and deepening experience in their own relationship with Christ.
