Before I left church tonight I counted 94 students signed up for our youth small groups. That means for 6 weeks 94 students will be gathering in the name of Jesus Christ to go deeper in their relationship with one another and in their faith (this does not include weekend programming). I could not have been more proud of the many ministers that worked hard to make this happen. The power of the Holy Spirit has been amazing this last year, I finally feel like I’m hitting my stride.
I know the next few weeks leading up to Easter are going to be a challenge, we’ve accomplished so much in the youth ministry but I know we have a far way to go. I’m hoping that with this new momentum in small groups that we can really start connecting students further into ministries and encourage students to bring their unchurched friends to our Sunday evening programs. Tonight I’m going to embrace this huge win and hand it over to God.
The one thing I offer up in prayer to God is that He helps me and the rest of the youth ministry reach out to adults who want to make an impact in a young person’s life.
